Covid-19 Response

In response to guidance from the Retirement Home Regulatory Authority, The Meadows of Aurora has updated and strengthened its protocols to protect residents, staff and visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Protecting our Community Throughout COVID-19

The safety of residents is our number one priority. The Meadows of Aurora has strict procedures in place across our campus to protect residents, staff and visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes rigorous cleaning and infection control, the use of personal protective equipment and rules regarding the number of people permitted in our campus spaces (elevators, common rooms, dining, etc.).

Additional Precautions for our Most Vulnerable Residents

Visitors to our assisted living and memory care spaces are required to be fully vaccinated or provide a doctor’s note indicating the reason for not being vaccinated. A COVID test will be performed by our wellness team prior to any unvaccinated visitor entering our supportive living spaces.

Staff Vaccination

Our staff are now required to be fully vaccinated. An employee who has a confirmed medical exception will be able to continue to work on the condition they agree to twice weekly testing in our onsite Health & Wellness centre. All new hires are required to be fully vaccinated.

Visitors, Vendors and Volunteers

All individuals who visit our campus are required to meet the same requirements as our staff. Initial screening takes place at our main entrance and additional screening takes place in our Wellness Centre prior to any visitor entering our supportive living floors and spaces.

Common Areas

When residents exit their private suite, masks are required in all common spaces throughout the campus. The only except is when residents eat in our dining room and coffee shop. Signage is in place throughout the building to remind residents, staff and visitors of the mandatory protocols in place to protect the community.
